I am a qualified Humanistic Person Centred Psychotherapist and have worked in private practice for over 15 years. I am based in Bottesford, on the edge of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.  

 

I began my counselling career in Peterborough studying the Person Centred approach. I then studied and achieved a diploma in Integrative Counselling at Huntingdon Regional College. Finally, I graduated from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute with a Master’s degree through Birmingham University.  

 

My way of being and working is influenced by Humanistic Person Centred concepts and in particular Carl Rogers three core conditions; congruence, unconditional positive regard (acceptance) and empathic understanding. These three necessary conditions are essential for an individual’s psychological well-being. Therefore, the therapeutic relationships I develop are founded in these conditions and I find them helpful in achieving a mutual relationship between us. However, I am aware that no two therapeutic relationships are the same, so I do draw on other models from my training in order to suit individual needs where necessary.  

 

I accept referrals from individuals, public and private sector organisations. I have extensive experience of working in GP surgeries and regularly receive referrals from Employment Assistant Programmes (EAP’s).

 

I offer both short and long term work with adults.  

 

My fee is £60 per 50 minutes. Company referrals are £60 per 50 minute session. I offer concessions for long term students.  

 

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice must be given if cancelling an appointment otherwise the full session fee will be charged.
